It presents a picture of the past where PlayStation spoke to a more vibrant audience across different ages and tastes. Astro Bot confidently shows us that we don’t need to abandon that thinking just because tech has changed and the industry has grown. There’s still room for an expertly designed collect-a-thon platformer that’s filled with love and wonder.

The Frog Gloves are the easier fist weapons to use but the Monkey’s ground pound alone makes it an even match. There are an absurd amount of rocket-powered animals in the game where one or even two could have sufficed. The first one players are likely to encounter is the Bulldog which plays a large role in Astro Bot’s first boss fight against Mighty Chewy. The Bulldog can rocket players forward and break through objects and surfaces like glass.

The image quality is superb, showing off the vibrant and detailed worlds wonderfully. While it doesn’t have the graphical heft of other first-party titles, it’s incredibly visually pleasing thanks to clean, consistent art direction. On top of that is silky smooth 60 frames-per-second performance, with not one hitch spotted in all our time playing.

Reflecting on the past year, we are thrilled to share some exciting updates about Astro Bot, our flagship game, which garnered numerous accolades and was met with overwhelming appreciation from players worldwide.

In each level, the main objective is to rescue Astro’s crew, scattered throughout the game’s five worlds and twenty levels. Players also face bosses at the end of each world, which require a certain number of rescued bots to challenge. Astro Bot Rescue Mission is a 3D platformer where players control Astro Bot, a small robot navigating various levels using a DualShock 4 controller. https://nk88.autos/ is designed for VR, so players experience the game world from a first-person perspective, essentially becoming a giant robot that interacts with the environment. This includes actions like smashing walls with head-butts, dodging attacks, and using the headset’s microphone to blow petals around.

You need to fly around the Nebula with your space ship until a UFO appears that holds the puzzle pieces, simply fly into it to collect it. If you replay levels, you can buy a satellite at the start for coins that marks the collectible locations. However, you need 15,000 coins to buy 150 gatcha items for the Money Well Spent trophy, so it’s best to not spend coins on the satellites. After reaching 100% completion you will have close to 15,000 coins if you don’t spend them on satellites. If you don’t have enough coins you can always replay levels to get more. The game also crashed on me twice, both times erasing more progress than I’d have expected since I assumed it auto-saves after each level, but I’d lost about three or four levels of progress in both instances.

Might make it hard to sing, but now you’ve unlocked the What Is He Saying? Use the checklists below to help fill in those gaps and track what you need to collect to work towards Platinum. Astro Bot is now available to play and own physically and digitally.

You’ll immediately feel and hear just how much Team Asobi uses the controller to sell its visuals. Unlike ASTRO’s Playroom, ASTRO BOT is a standalone, full-sized adventure that offers over four times more worlds, 300 bots to rescue and dozens of new powers and features to discover. In Spring-LoadedRun, you will strap on your twin frog boxing gloves and traverse a sunken city ruins. Punch rolling barrels, swing over daring gaps, and pummel your way to the top of the tower to rescue the special bots. Astro, the robot captain of a mothership resembling the PlayStation 5 console, and his crew of Bots are exploring space when a green alien named Space Bully Nebulax attacks them and rips out the mothership’s CPU. An unconscious Astro and the mothership crash-land onto a desert planet while his crew and the mothership’s core systems are scattered across the universe.

We’re eager to see how Team Asobi expands the gameplay this time around. 3D action platformers have many ways to keep their players engaged long after defeating the final boss. Time trials and secret areas that unlock after collecting enough hidden materials can provide many more hours of entertainment, especially if time trial modes exist for friends to compete against one another. While there are hidden levels to discover in Astro Bot, after those are completed, there is little incentive to revisit previously conquered stages.

Astro Bot Odin’s Ravens Checklist

Astro Bot fans will gain access to five more DLC stages over the coming weeks, with new levels arriving weekly between February 13 and March 13. You will have plenty of opportunities to break up Bot Walls as you’re upgrading the Crash Site, but if you’re at the end of the game, go to the entrance of the Ice Temple. This is unlocked after completing the Serpent Starway galaxy and requires 90 Bots to build a Bot Wall anytime you want to enter the Ice Temple. Repeat this at all four slot machines in this area (including the one to the far right where you can find a Rescued Bot!) to unlock the Time to Cash In! There is a second set of Tripcaster wires in the clearing with the Tallneck. Irritate some ground-bound enemies into following you, then hop into or behind the square enclosure (yes, there’s enough space for you to stand between the wire and the rock).

Gorilla Nebula Hidden Bot Locations

A selection of family-friendly options for PlayStation 5 owners who want to play games with their kids. Team Asobi cements itself as an essential PlayStation studio with an imaginative platformer for the ages. A very inventive platformer in its own right, Astro Bot is particularly special for anyone with a place in their heart for PlayStation.

It could be said that the combination of futurism with cuteness perfectly embodies the identity of the Japanese roots of the PlayStation brand that Kutaragi started. Characters like Toro, Parappa and Ape Escape’s monkeys share a somewhat similar blend of digital, cool and cute. But utilizing the uniqueness of hardware is something that Team Asobi has always been good at – arguably more than any other PlayStation studio.
